Deeb Residence- A Lebanese house in a post modern approach.
- Mr. Deeb wanted his own house to reflect the Lebanese values and norms rooted in our social heritage in a post modern approach. While the first approach to the house gives the impression of a traditional Lebanese frontyard with its triple arch and traditional pond and fountain (birkeh), the visitor is surprised by a tripartite subdivision or layering of the house zones all accessible through the triple arch axis. The first and most spacious zone is the exterior garden reserved to social assemblies; the second zone overlooks the first one. It is the interior reception area with its open glass bays. And overlooking everything is the third zone which is the private wing flanked on two floors.
- The configuration of this house is very emblematic and seems to satisfy Mr. Deeb’s viewpoint of things.
